All 29 of the standard rooms and garden villas at Mar de Luz have front patios with seating overlooking the pools. Standard rooms, $80, feature stone walls, two queen-size beds, arm chairs, desks and dressers. Because Mar de Luz caters to a Costa Rican audience who often enjoy bringing their own food from home, the rooms include a microwave, a blender, a large mini- fridge, plates and cutlery, a coffee maker as well as Wi-Fi, cable and A/C. Clean and comfortable, the rooms don't appear to have any of the normal rust/wear and tear associated with rooms by the beach.
