Dip your feet into the hotel's pool or cold Jacuzzi while you order a fresh fruit smoothie or cocktail from the poolside bar; lie under the sun on a patio chair and warm your muscles before a massage to soothe your soul in the Day Spa; or simply step upstairs for a refined meal at the Hotel Costa Coral Restaurant.

Rooms

Weaving authentic Costa Rican spirit into the hotel, the gardens bud with jungle geraniums, cornflowers, pineapple plants and coconut palms; and traditional Borucan tribal masks adorn the main reception area beneath the hotel's restaurant.

Ten total rooms scatter between two buildings at Hotel Costa Coral; standard rooms by the pool, $113, have a private terrace, interior foyer with couch, bar and coffee maker, private bathroom and bedroom with double bed, A/C, cable TV, telephone, and safety deposit box.

Restaurant

The Hotel Costa Coral Restaurant serves international cuisine surrounded by local sights, perched on the hotel's second story glancing over the main street in Tambor.

Grab a seat on the wraparound porch and ask for the Costa Coral Breakfast, $12, two pancakes, bacon, eggs, pan-fried potatoes, onions and bell peppers.

Finish swimming at the pool and head upstairs for lunch, sea bass filet, $7, topped with onion, tomatoes, thin-sliced potatoes and green bell peppers. Match the vibrancy of the afternoon sunshine with a piña colada, $7, or a watermelon smoothie, $2.

Return in the evening for an international dinner classic, chicken cordon bleu, $20, ham, mozzarella cheese and sweet cream-bacon sauce, served with garlic sauteed vegetables and mashed potatoes. Just as the stars begin to shine over Tambor, bite into a brownie, $5 topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
