Rooms

Contemporary statues and a chilled fruit drink welcome guests into the reception area, setting the mood for the rest of their sophisticated stay. Peruvian paintings hang on the walls that lead guests to one of 68 spacious rooms across four floors, each with mod furniture and an urban view.

Superior rooms, $160 in wet season, (April-Sept.) with breakfast features one king or two full beds, a corner desk with two chairs, a six-foot dresser, flat screen TV, cable, two phones, A/C, hairdryer, safety deposit box, Wi-Fi and laundry services upon request.

Services & amenities

On the third floor business lounge, guests have free access to two desktop computers, where free coffee and pastries await.

At the top of the hotel, a fourth-floor gym overlooking a panoramic central valley view, has treadmills, cable machines, stationary bikes and a water station.

Palma Real coordinates seminars, business conferences, and group events like baby showers and sports team celebrations. Reception staff is available 24/7, providing  transportation to and from the San Jose airport with a 48-hour notice. The hotel is also handicap friendly with wheelchair access.

Poker tables and more than 20 slot machines are open for play exclusively for guests downstairs in the casino.

Restaurant

The breakfast buffet, from 6 a.m-10 a.m., offers a hearty start to the day. Guests can enjoy scrambled eggs, sausage links, gallo pinto (mixed rice and beans), fresh papaya and pineapple in the main room or outdoor patio.

Lunch, available as a buffet from noon –2 p.m., features different cuisines daily. Anything from Mexican to Italian appears on the self-serve food line, perfect for business groups with restricted time.

Happy hour, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the classy bar area lets guests relax after a full day.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., a large dinner menu with dishes like a Palma Real special tomato cream soup, $6, topped with avocado, cheese and croutons.
