April 28 - May 29, 2019
Labor Day is a national holiday in Costa Rica marked by parades, fireworks, processions and a presidential speech. Many businesses and all government offices will be closed on May 1.
Celebrated countrywide in towns named San Isidro, this day honors the Patron Saint of farmers and farm animals with blessings of future crops and livestock. Fiestas and parades are common.
This religious festival, which includes a traditional feast, celebrates the blood and body of Christ. It is observed on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday, and some workplaces consider this a holiday.
