Cacao Museum

Walk through the heliconia of the Cacao Museum's botanical garden into its wildlife sanctuary and indigenous museum. Guided two-hour tours through the farm lead visitors on a quest to understand the origins of Costa Rica's Afro-Caribbean culture. Learn how indigenous tribes first harvested and processed cacao at an 80-year-old cacao farm and the on-site chocolate factory and hike. Additionally, the Cacao Museum has canoe tours down the Carbon River plus its own pool and restaurant (only used for large groups) featuring Caribbean cuisine.
