Restaurante Ngo - Chinese Vietnamese Take-out

Restaurante Ngo - Chinese Vietnamese Take-out

Destination: Manuel Antonio

Restaurante Ngo is quick, cheap and far from the typical Chinese take-out. Pairing down the average Chinese menu to a solid ten dishes, plus weekend specials, Ngo serves high quality Chinese/Vietnamese cuisine that just happens to be served in Styrofoam to-go boxes with plastic forks.

Ngo's Owners and head chefs Khang and Susan use family recipes made with fresh produce from the local market. You can taste the integrity in dishes like the bahn mi sandwich, $6; thinly-sliced red Vietnamese-style pork, carrots, fresh herbs and house-sauce on a crusty, fresh French baguette. All dishes are made to order, including the orange chicken, $6, lightly sprinkled in a zesty and spicy orange sauce served with rice.

Also, it's probably the only place in town you can find a root beer float, $4, and when was the last time you had one of those?

Ambiance

Ngo's a small take-out restaurant with only two tables inside. The walls are painted red, the Chinese color for luck, and the walls are decorated with traditional Chinese artwork including paper fans and posters.

Service

Quick and friendly.
