Evergreen Lodge is an all-inclusive ecolodge featuring 31 cabins and 29 rooms, two bars, two restaurants, pool and canopy tour.  Tour packages for Evergreen Lodge include round-trip transportation from San Jose, meals and a selection of tours for one- and two-night visits, $210 and $280 during wet season (Sept. 1-Dec. 14).

Rooms

White pebbles inlaid across pathways raised three-feet above the forest floor lead visitors to their rooms set up in blocks settled among the rainforest. Inside, visitors will find traditional Caribbean-style paintings, stone floors, green and white walls, screen windows, skylights, vaulted ceilings and spacious bathrooms. Each room is furnished with a king-size bed, bedside tables, dresser, fans and safety deposit boxes. Wi-Fi is available at reception.

Restaurants

Both of Evergreen's restaurants serve buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner included in the packages. At breakfast, Evergreen serves scrambled eggs, gallo pinto (mixed rice and beans), cereal, fresh fruit and pancakes.  Lunch and dinner include Costa Rican typical dishes like fried rice, vegetables, and beef in tomato sauce; plus a pasta bar where visitors can choose their own ingredients and sauce for the chef to fry up.

Services and amenities

Evergreen Lodge has a turtle-shaped pool, two restaurants, a bar and the only canopy tour in Tortuguero, Senderos Aereos. A family-friendly tour, Senderos Aereos, takes visitors on a ride across seven-zip lines and four hanging bridges in the secondary rainforest beside the national park with opportunities to see wildlife like monkeys and toucans.

The lodge also has its own canoes and kayaks for visitors to use free of charge on the small canal located behind the lodge where there's a chance to spot emerald basilisk lizards, iguanas, tiger herons, caimans and a variety of other animals that live among the canals.
