Cool off under a thatch roof by the sea over a waffle cone packed with artisanal gelato at Deelite. Italian Co-owner Paolo Puorro crafts a hundred different flavors of homemade artisanal gelato in his tiny shop in Puerto Viejo.
read more closePuorro is true to his flavors using local fruit like passion fruit, mango, tamarind, avocado and coconut. He makes batches of gelato daily choosing 18 different flavors that include peanut butter, dulce de leche, pistachio, chocolate with orange zest and Italian black cherry.
A cool cup or cone of gelato goes for $2 to $5, or for a little more pep try a $2 espresso or $3 cappuccino.

A thatch patio, borders the yellow, Caribbean style-two story home that serves as Deelite's ice cream shop; only steps away from the beach in Puerto Viejo and the bust station.
