Casa Verde Lodge features 17 rooms concealed among tropical flora along checkered-tile, mosaic-inlaid pathways in the back streets of central Puerto Viejo. Only a block from Main Street and the beaches of Parquecito and Salsa Brava, Casa Verde's close to the action, affordable and comfortable – reserve a masseuse for an afternoon massage beside the pool, soak in the hot tub or curl up with a cup of coffee in the lodge's café.read more close
Owner and artist Carolina Jimenez has transformed Casa Verde into her own private art gallery with installations inlaid across the walkways and painted in the rooms like the elegant torch ginger scrawled on the walls in one of the nine standard rooms. Each standard room with private bathroom, $62 in the dry season (Sept.-Nov.), includes a spacious patio with a hammock and seats as well as a single bed, a twin bed, desk, two ceiling fans, desk fan, and cable.
Casa Verde Lodge doesn't have its own restaurant; however, it does offer free coffee, Wi-Fi, cable and a computer all day in their café.
Services and amenities
In addition to the café, Casa Verde Lodge has a gift shop selling local indigenous artwork and jewelry; a re-creation of a traditional Caribbean home built on stilts and painted blue and yellow in the gardens; and a pool, surrounded by vegetation in the center of the Lodge with a stone Jacuzzi, waterfall and a shaded veranda with massage tables set-up for private sessions.
