Rohrmoser has access to modern utilities and services, thanks to its central location. High-speed Internet, cable television, and GSM and 3G cell phone services are widely available. Public transportation is also a breeze: several bus lines travel through the area, connecting Rohrmoser to Pavas, La Sabana, and downtown San Jose. For added accessibility -- and a great way to avoid downtown traffic -- the San Jose urban train links eastern San Jose (San Pedro) with the Rohrmoser area.

For many, Rohrmoser's biggest draw is its convenient location coupled with a quiet residential setting. Its upscale areas tend to have a higher cost of living than other San Jose suburbs (though generally less expensive than nearby Escazu). A furnished studio apartment begins at about $450, including utilities, while an unfurnished, luxury 3 or 4-bedroom home can cost $1500 to $4000 monthly, depending on location, amenities, and yard size.

Rohrmoser's entertainment options can't be beat. La Sabana Park is just five minutes away and offers walking trails, a small lake, sporting facilities, and myriad cultural events. Art galleries and a huge variety of restaurants are within minutes of your Rohrmoser home. There are several modern malls in the area, including Plaza Mayor and Multiplaza Escazu, which boasts familiar stores like Kenneth Cole, Aeropostale, and Oscar de la Renta. Both malls have multi-screen movie theaters showing the latest blockbusters, and Avenida Escazu -- just 15 minutes away -- is home to a popular 3D IMAX theater.

Night owls won't be disappointed with area's nightlife, which promises a rhythmic mix of Latin beats, techno, pop music clubs, and more. Just minutes away, Pavas' main street is lined with trendy bars, while a bit farther from home, La Sabana and Paseo Colon have some of Costa Rica's hippest nightclubs. In nearby Escazu, you''ll find the Jazz Cafe, home to some of San Jose's best live music.

Resident families appreciate Rohrmoser's excellent educational options. The San Jose metropolitan area enjoys a variety of quality public, magnet, and private schools. Several private schools provide English-only, bilingual or trilingual classes. English-speaking residents favor the Marion Baker School, the Blue Valley School and the Country Day School. Another popular option is the Colegio Humboldt, which gives classes in English, Spanish and German.

Rohrmoser has many pharmacies, clinics, and private practices that provide first-rate medical care. For everything from routine check-ups to emergency services, Cima Hospital, a private facility with state-of-the-art technology and a highly trained bilingual staff, is located just minutes away in Escazu.
