The area's damp cloud forest is completely different than the cool, mountainous cloud forest seen inland in Monteverde.read more close
Guanacaste National Park’s Cacao Biological Station provides access to Cacao Volcano; serious hikers trek up rustic trails to reach the summit. As trails are rough and the park is largely untouristed, hiring an experienced, local guide is highly recommended.
