Detailed Itinerary:
DAY 1
We begin our trip early in the morning, between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m., depending on the location of your San Jose hotel. You will be traveling with a bilingual naturalist guide on an air-conditioned bus. Drive through Braulio Carrillo National Park, where you have the opportunity to see beautiful views and lush rainforests. On the way we will stop for breakfast at a restaurant where you can enjoy a butterfly garden with a variety of tropical flowers. After breakfast we continue our journey until we arrive at the dock in Cano Blanco.
There, you will board a covered boat for transport to the lodge, passing the Tortuguero canals, and arriving between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m. At the lodge our staff will be waiting for you with a refreshing cocktail, your rooms will be assigned, and the guide will explain the afternoon activities after lunch. You may choose to visit the Turtle Museum, run by the Caribbean Conservation Corporation, explore the colorful sights of Tortuguero village, or hike to Tortuguero Hill.
Return to the lodge around 5:30 p.m. with free time to enjoy the pool, the bar service and prepare for dinner. Dinner service is from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The rest of the night is free to enjoy the surroundings, pool and bar.
 DAY 2
Breakfast (service between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.). Guided tour to Tortuguero National Park where you can observe monkeys, toucans, coatimundis and other tropical wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and free time for a siesta. Enjoy the pool, go for a walk on the beach, or stay and explore the lodge's many private trails. Dinner at the lodge and free night.
DAY 3
After breakfast we will begin our trip back to San Jose at 9:30 a.m. The boat will arrive at the Cano Blanco docks around 11:00 a.m. Then our bus will be waiting for the drive back to San Jose. Stop for lunch en route to San Jose. Arrive in San Jose between 3 and 4 p.m.
