Parasailing is one of the finest ways to safely experience free flight, and doesn’t require any formal training or preparation. The activity was conceived as an adventure sport 30 years ago, and is offered at many beaches along Costa Rica’s Pacific and Caribbean coasts. Parasailing offers adventurers the chance to defy gravity while suspended by a parachute that is attached to a boat, high enough to make your fellow beach-goers appear like ants scrambling around the sand.

Licensed and insured tour companies offer this exhilarating opportunity to spot dolphins, whales and other marine life while flying high, sometimes as much as 600 feet above the dazzling ocean.

Parasailing has recently become popular in the Central Pacific beaches of Jaco and Manuel Antonio.  A two-hour drive from San Jose, Jaco is a bustling, highly-developed beach town with all imaginable comforts and amenities. Less than an hour south of Jaco, Manuel Antonio is the epitome of a tropical, idyllic beach with some of the best snorkeling sites in the country.
