Though Costa Rica is known more for its beaches, volcanoes and rainforests, the country is currently undergoing a cultural revolution that attracts talented individuals from around the world. Lively festivals, traveling circuses and outdoor concerts compliment more serious pursuits such as opera, symphonic orchestra recitals and Shakespearean theater. Music is performed in many public places, and school bands march through the streets.

Most entertainment in Costa Rica costs less than its North American counterpart, though some traveling shows charge comparable ticket prices.
