Restaurants:
Dining out in Tamarindo is always a pleasure. From Middle Eastern specialties to Italian fare, cafes and restaurants serve up a wide variety of succulent dishes. Some upscale hotels include international restaurants with breathtaking sunset views For those on a shoestring budget, Tamarindo can be a bit of a challenge, as there are very few sodas (small restaurants serving inexpensive local food) in town.

Bar One With some of the most delicious and inexpensive sushi in town, Bar One is worth a visit. Situated on the third floor of one of Tamarindo's busiest shopping centers, the restaurant offers quality food and a chic ambiance.
Eat @ Joe's Witch's Rock Surf Camp's in-house restaurant, Eat @ Joe's, features fresh sushi, cheap beer and a great selection of burgers, chicken fingers, nachos and more. Drinks are half price during happy hour, which begins at 5:00 p.m.
Laguna del Cocodrilo Bistro This elegant bistro combines international and fusion-style dining. Main courses like beef tenderloin and duck breast accompany an impressive selection of fine wines. Open for dinner only.
Nogui’s A proud holder of the title 'oldest restaurant in town,' Nogui's is favored by both locals and tourists alike – offering quality grilled seafood, mouthwatering meats and some of the town’s finest desserts (make sure to try their legendary coconut cream pie). Sandwiches and salads are fairly inexpensive at lunchtime.
Olga’s Coffee Shop
Serves fresh salads and make-your-own wraps with ingredients like feta cheese, arugula, chick peas and smoked trout. Also serves delicious coffee.
Nightlife:
On any given night, there is something going on in Tamarindo – ladies’ night, reggae dance halls, live bands and poker games at the casino. Locals informally designate one hotspot to frequent each evening of the week. Most places start hopping around 10 p.m. or later on weekends, and carry on through the wee hours of the morning.
Aqua- This enormous, multi-level dance club is the place to be on Saturday evenings. Monday is ladies' night, when women drink free from 10:00 p.m. to midnight.
Bar Babylon- On Saturday nights, visitors of all ages and backgrounds flock to Bar Babylon for dancing and partying.
Jazz Casino- Texas Hold'em is the Jazz Casino's main draw – poker tournaments are frequently held here.
La Barra- Wednesday is Latin Dance Night at La Barra.
Monkey Bar- Located in the Best Western, the Monkey Bar is the busiest place in town on Friday nights, when two dance floors open up. One features live music, and the other rocks with DJ-driven dance beats.
Pasatiempo- Local musicians play on Tuesday nights at Hotel Pasatiempo’s bar, a longtime favorite with Tamarindo residents.
