Dominical does not have a regional airport. The closest airports are located in Quepos and Palmar Sur, and both are serviced by SANSA and Nature Air.

By Car:

Playa Dominical is a four to five-hour drive through the scenic mountains of the Cerro de la Muerte. From San Jose, take the Interamericana (Hwy 2) south toward Cartago, following signs to SanDominical Isidro del General and Dominical. This stretch of highway is best traveled during daylight hours, as fog, rain and road conditions are unpredictable.

Coastal route from San Jose: from the Juan Santamaria International Airport near Alajuela, drive west past Orotina, Jaco and then Quepos. The road between Quepos and Dominical is almost completely paved (more than 2/3 of the road is finished as of October 2009), and the single lane bridges are in relatively good condition.
