Activities: Waterfalls
This morning we were going to explore Piedras Blancas National Park and do a waterfall hike. Our guide, a botanist named Eric, specialized in arboreal studies as well as medicinal plants. His goal today would be to show us how useful the rainforest can be to modern society.

Our tour left at 7:00 a.m. in a covered boat aimed at San Pedrillo, the closer of the two Corcovado ranger stations most easily accessed from Drake Bay. A small wooden building partially enclosing a number of camping tents, and a few picnic tables sat on a patch of grass just off the beach.

I began the day with a walk by the beach and a stroll through downtown Montezuma. Blue and white magpie jays populated the downtown area like pigeons in New York. I found these Costa Rican birds to be more beautiful and less annoying.
