These bugs were brown. They looked NASTY. I will leave the eating of termites to the pros, for now. If I am ever stuck in the jungle, I'll live on mangoes!

The frogs were actually easy to spot. Their colors make them stand out among the dark leaves that were on the ground. Plus, they hop a lot. It was the most beautiful sight.

Wow! This trip sounded like a lot of fun!Your descriptions made it sound as if I was there. Next time, you need to eat the termites! How was your guide able to spot those dart frogs? He must have had a trained eye.

I ate a termite on my trip to Cahuita National Park. (I did it for the experience! And also to prove to myself that, if I ever got lost in the jungle, I wouldn't starve to death. It still took some courage.) Anyway, these termites tasted just like ginger/ginger ale. In fact, our guide said that some people moosh them up, add water and drink it as a combo protein-soft drink. I wonder if they're a different species? The termite I tasted was half black, half ginger (go figure) colored.
