Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort (La Iguana Golf Course)

The La Iguana Golf Course is part of the magnificent Los Suenos Ocean & Golf Resort located along the Central Pacific coast in Playa Herradura, near Jaco in the Puntarenas Province (only 2 hrs. from San Jose). This 18-hole championship course is the epitome of Costa Rica. Stellar coastal views adorn the landscape in one direction and dense tropical forest filled with wildlife in the other. The resort itself is situated in a secluded cove bordered by white sand beaches.

Designed by Ted Robinson, Jr., the Los Suenos course utilizes its natural resources to not only lend natural beauty to the course, but also to add the challenges of the golf game. Many of the mature, full canopied trees, while offering scenic splendor, are obstacles. Right off the bat, the second tee demands a choice, over or under the heavily branched trees directly in line with the approaching green.

Throughout the course, fairways and greens offer glimpses of the sparkling Pacific Ocean, pristine beaches and palm trees. Forest borders much of the course, providing up-close opportunities to observe the many creatures that live in the forest.

A golf guide is provided (if available) at no additional charge. These guides serve not only as caddies, but also as nature guides. Howler monkeys, three-toed sloths and toucans are some of the most popular sightings. Without a guide, many of these animals would go unnoticed.
