-San José, Official season concerts: 8 pm Fridays, Founded in 1940 and currently led by American Maestro Irwin Hoffman, the national symphony orchestra highlights famous symphonic works as well as minor and newly commissioned pieces. Renowned visiting musicians perform frequently with the orchestra and opera company. The concert season runs from April through November with approximately 24-36 concerts held in the Teatro Naciónal. The orchestra also performs smaller concerts for students and Christmas concerts.
Live Latin Orchestra Enjoy the Latin rhythms of this hotspot: a great place to socialize, dance and share the Tico passion for live music. Very popular with locals, Palenque de Ojo de Agua is a wonderful introduction to Latin music and culture. |
