Restaurants:

Central Quepos has bars and restaurants on just about every street. Everything is less than a ten-minute walk from Romantic Restaurantthe main street that parallels the shore. Fresh seafood, Italian, Mexican and typical Costa Rican are just a few of the cuisines available.  Many restaurants will cook the day's catch for you, if given advance notice.


Quepos:

- The Escalofrio Pizza and Spaghetti House
Known for its excellent homemade ice cream and fresh Italian meals. 

- Tsunami Sushi
Features fresh sashimi and sushi in a small, inviting upstairs restaurant. Occasionally offers a reasonably-priced sushi and hand roll buffet.


Manuel Antonio:

The road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio is dotted with hotels, restaurants and bars. Most post their events and nightly specials on a sign by the road. Listed below is a small sampling of the restaurants on offer:


- La Hacienda Restaurant and Bar
 A well-known establishment featuring gourmet nightly specials, fine wines and homemade desserts. The cuisine is a blend of Nuevo Latino, Mediterranean and Asian elements. Located in Plaza Yara, on the road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio.


- Ronny’s Place
Great food and fantastic ocean views make this restaurant a favorite among travelers and Ticos alike. Fresh seafood dishes, giant  burgers and desserts can be washed down with a cold beer or sangria.


- Salsipuedes 
Funky, outdoor tapas bar serving inexpensive delicacies like grilled shrimp kabobs, seared sashimi and ceviche. Open nightly for dinner but closed on Tuesdays.Typical Costa Rican Cuisine


- Bambu Jam
Offers an exciting menu and features live music several times a week.  They post their weekly calendar on a large board outside the restaurant.


- Plinio Restaurant and Bar
Uses organic herbs and local ingredients to create Thai curries, Indian specialties and tapas dishes. 


- Mar y Luna 
Fine seafood dishes at this restaurant have made headlines. They also host live music on occasion.


Bars & Nightlife:

There is a definite party scene in Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Weekdays are bit mellower with occasional live music, but the weekends are jamming in several spots.


- Barba Roja has great sunset views, live music and good food.


- The Lounge is a trendy club which is hopping on Tuesdays and Thursdays and features reggae night on Mondays.


- Restaurant Gato Negro is a popular, gay-friendly gathering spot  and has superb food and cocktails.


- Hotel Byblos’ restaurant and casino stays open late—one of the only places with a full late-night kitchen (2 a.m. or later). They have different nightly specials includingManuel Antonio Bar and Restaurant locals' appreciation night on Mondays and ladies' night on Wednesdays.  Well drinks and beer are free if you are gaming in the Byblos casino.


- Coconuts bar in Manuel Antonio village is a hot spot that always attracts big crowds.

 

Music:

Many bars have live music featuring everything from Latin and Calypso, to blues, rock and jazz. Happy hours and ladies’ nights vary by location. Some popular locales with live music are:

- El Avion (near Costa Verde) offers live music every night from December through May.


- Si Como No’s restaurant (oceanside, halfway between Quepos and Manuel Antonio)


- The Gato Negro (across from El Avion)


- Bambu Jam (land side shortly after leaving Quepos)
