Blue Morpho Lounge
Definitely the best food in Pavones, if not some of the best in all of Central America. The Blue Morpho Lounge features homemade pastas and pizzas, seafood and meat dishes.  A mix of real Italian and California fusion cuisine, this restaurant is located at the Castillo de Pavones. Closed Mondays.

Cafe de la Suerte
Located in the center of town across from the soccer field, this vegetarian restaurant serves delicious, healthy,inexpensive dishes.  The homemade pita bread and hummus are delicious as are the fresh fruit drinks that include tropical flavors like mango and maracuya.

Esquina del Mar Bar & Restaurant
Typical-style Costa Rican food including casados and rice dishes at good prices.  A wild toucan, affectionately named “Sammy”, frequents the restaurant and tries to steal food from unsuspecting guests’ plates. The bar portion of this restaurant, known as “The Cantina”, serves beers to surfers cruising by with their long boards.  It is the famous cantina mentioned in several books written about the Pavones area.

Flory’s Restaurant
Another typical-style restaurant located near the beach parking area. Flory’s serves quality food at good prices.  

La Manta Bar & Restaurant
A Mediterranean restaurant that serves seafood as well as typical Costa Rican food.  A cinema upstairs whereshows locally-made surf videos. La Manta is located on the main road heading into Pavones, just before the Pescaderia, on the left side.

Mar y Luz
A small soda serving typical Costa Rican food.

Pizzeria
Turn left at La Plaza to find this pizza restaurant.

South of Pavones (along the beach road to Punto Banco):

Brisas del Mar
A cozy restaurant with a beach -front view and ocean breeze and serving inexpensive food including pizzas, ceviches and casados. There is a nice section of beach across from the restaurant, perfect for a stroll after lunch.    

Pico Italia
This restaurant sits on the beach road and is part of the La Piña Cabinas.  It serves a variety of dishes including jumbo shrimp (when available) and other fresh seafood dishes, pastas and salads. Prices range from ¢2000 to ¢9000.

Roca del Mar
A small restaurant/soda along the beach road to Punta Banco that features typical food.

Nightlife:

The Cantene (Bar Esquinas del Mar) 

Popular with locals and surfers.  

The Blue Morpho Lounge
The bar is open every night for drinks from 12 noon until 10 p.m. The restaurant is open every night except Mondays  from 2:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.
