Recommended Restaurants:
Budget $: D’Pepe, Café Cuzuco (coffee shop near Bar Amigos), the Rainforest Café, the Tree House Restaurant, Stella’s Bakery (in Monteverde Village) and Dulce Marzo (in Cerro Plano).
Middle $$: Tramonti (Italian Food, in Monteverde Village), El Marquez (next to internet café across from the bank in Santa Elena).
Top End $$$: Hotel Heliconia Restaurant (excellent food), Monteverde Lodge and Gardens Restaurant.
Nightlife:
There are only 2 bars in central Santa Elena: Bar Amigos and The Taberna. Both have dancing and are full of activity on the weekends and often during the week.
Bar Amigos has live bands featuring Latin dance music, inexpensive drinks and good dancing. The Taberna plays Latin music and a mix of other popular dance tunes. This bar is more frequently visited by a younger crowd and more tourists congregate here than at Bar Amigos. There is an outdoor patio area that provides an refreshing break from the heat of the dance floor.
