Destinations - Cities and Towns

There is little need to travel locally in Drake Bay.  Most hotels provide all the transportation you will need, which mostly involves boat trips to various beaches, Corcovado or Cano Island.

Drake Bay is a small area and you can walk into town from many of the hotels.  If you are staying in Marenco, for example, you could follow the oceanside trail for an hour and arrive in Agujitas.  If you are nearby, it’s always good to check out the town and support the local economy.

Should you need to get around, most hotels have information on taxis and can arrange one for you.

Visitors can hire a private car from Agujitas.  Franklin or Julio will drive you anywhere in the Osa.

Franklin: 506-8-815-5191 (little English spoken)
Julio: 506-8-831-6142 (little English spoken)

Boat Taxis:
There are also boat taxis for hire. Hotels have information on how to contact these captains.

For example, if you wanted to be able to see the sun set into the ocean, you could hire a taxi to take you to Marenco Lodge, where you could enjoy the sunset at their restaurant.  They have a commanding view of the Pacific Ocean. Boat taxis also go to Corcovado National Park and to the surf breaks
