Catedral Metropolitana (Metropolitan Cathedral)

The Cathedral, located on Calle Central between Avenida 2 and Avenida 4, is one of downtown San Jose’s most important landmarks. Built in 1776, its architecture was heavily influenced by Europe’s Renaissance, although traditional Costa Rican flourishes can be found throughout.
